Weekly Newsletter (21st December 2016)
Good morning everyone!
A very brief weekly newsletter this week, as I try to fit finishing work, Winter Wonderland and travelling back home into the next 72 hours (via Brighton parkrun).
We have had a few replies from those interested in pre-ordering our new Motspur vest. For those of you who may have missed it last week, these are likely to come to £25 each. Please drop me a reply on this address and we will add you to the list. Alternatively, we will be updating the website in the next few weeks to include a ‘Club Store’ where you can buy directly.
The lead time for these is currently estimated at 6 – 8 weeks. If you’re unsure if you want one yet, we’ll be ordering a few spares and showing these off in the New Year. I think you’ll agree that they do look amazing, and you’ll have a chance to show this off at some of the Cross Country and Road events we have planned for next year!
Results Summary
Seems like most of those signed up as full members are having a quiet few months – my Power of 10 stalking only turning up Lydia and myself (again) – let me know if I’m missing any of your stand-out performances!
- Lydia O’Donoghue – (please note the following course review will be entirely biased based on it being 200M from my flat and my home cross country course) Lydia travelled for parkrun duty at Lloyd Park, Croydon this week. Known for its fearsome mixture of hills and mud, the going has been good this year, and the six inch mudbath from previous years has yet to materialise. However, the 64M of elevation gain are still there, but Lydia sped around in 22:48, placing third. I hope you enjoyed it, Lydia!
- Me! – a double header of races this weekend – I managed to get around 12K at Beckenham for South of the Thames XC on Saturday, before travelling very east for the ‘Kent Christmas Cracker’ 5 Miler on Sunday. My legs are no longer on speaking terms with the rest of my body.
That’s all from me for today, other than to wish all of our members a very happy Christmas and New Year. I look forward to meeting those of you who I have yet to in 2017!
